Mental Health (Intensive Outpatient)

When you need more support than typical outpatient therapy can provide, turn to Essentia Health’s partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs in Duluth, Minnesota. You’ll find comprehensive care that helps you regain control of symptoms from post-traumatic stress disorder to depression and anxiety.

Adult Partial Hospitalization Program

Choose Essentia’s Adult Partial Hospitalization Program for short-term, intensive outpatient mental health care that helps you better manage your symptoms and your life. You’ll continue to live at home while attending a group therapy program six hours a day, four days a week, for three weeks. This program is available through Essentia Health-Duluth and is in the 330 Building (330 East 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805).

This program can help you reach your treatment goals when you need a higher level of care, but don’t require the 24-hour monitoring of an inpatient program.

Our team of mental health professions gets to know you—not just your condition. Depending on your needs, you may work with:

  • Social workers – Connect you with community resources and help you plan for care after you leave the program
  • Chaplains – Give spiritual guidance and support
