Services & Providers Not Covered

The Essentia Health Financial Assistance Program is not an insurance program. It doesn’t cover certain medical services, retail services, services supplied by organizations that aren’t part of Essentia Health, and specific medical providers.

Services & Specialties Not Covered

Services not covered under the Essentia Health Financial Assistance program include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Assisted living facilities
  • Behavioral health services from providers with a master’s-level degree (for example: behavioral health counselors and clinical social workers)
  • Cardiac rehabilitation phase III
  • Convenient Care services
  • Cosmetic services: BOTOX® (elective), buttock lift, breast augmentation, eye lift, facial implants, facelift, liposuction, rhinoplasty, tattoo removal
  • Dental services provided in a clinic setting, including dental implants
  • DOT or flight physicals
  • Durable medical equipment and supplies not covered in the hospital or clinic settings
  • Evisits
  • Eyeglasses, contact lenses, or LASIK eye surgery
  • Hearing aids or hearing aid batteries, inserts, or repair
  • Home care services not provided by a skilled provider
  • Hospice and Solvay Hospice House services
  • Massage therapy
  • Out-of-network insurance denials
  • Prescription medications or self-administered drugs (SADs)
  • Reproductive Management Services
  • School or sports physicals
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Travel vaccines
