Dr. Worden is an interventional cardiologist who joined the Essentia Health Heart and Vascular Center in 2018. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Iowa where she remained to complete her training in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the STEMI program which has led many statewide initiatives for the care of patients with acute myocardial infarction. She was recognized throughout her training with several awards. She received the Ernest I. Thielen Award for best resident performance in the cardiac ICU in 2014. She received the CEO Making a Difference Award at the University of Iowa in 2014. In 2015, she received the Women in Cardiology Training Award for Excellence. Dr. Wordens’ interests include high-risk percutaneous coronary intervention, mechanical circulatory support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and care of women with cardiac disease.
