Meet the residency director and coordinator of the Essentia Health-Fargo Pharmacy Practice Residency Program and get to know our current residents.
Residency Program Director, Essentia Health Pharmacy Services
Email Bernie Behm.
Bernie Behm received her Doctor of Pharmacy (2004) from North Dakota State University. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. She worked as an inpatient pharmacist at CHI-St.Alexius in Bismarck for 5 years before moving to Fargo in 2010. She began working at Essentia Health-Fargo in 2011 as a clinical pharmacist.
Her primary practice is intensive care and general medicine. She serves as preceptor for the residents in orientation and critical care.

Email Carly Wehner.
Carly Wehner received her Doctor of Pharmacy (2015) from North Dakota State University. After graduation, she completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. Upon completing her residency in 2016, she accepted a position as a staff clinical pharmacist at Essentia Health – Fargo.
Her primary practice is in general medicine and critical care. She serves as preceptor for the residents in education/precepting and general medicine.

Email Jordann Hoernemann.
Jordann was born and raised on a dairy farm in Winsted, MN. She graduated from pharmacy school at NDSU this past May. Jordann aspires to be a clinical pharmacist with as much patient interaction as possible. Her areas of pharmacy interest are ambulatory care and emergency medicine. The endless possibilities within pharmacy excite her, and she is ready to learn more at Essentia Health. In her spare time, Jordann is a foodie who loves spending time in the outdoors.

Sierra is from Bismarck, ND and graduated from Century High School in 2012. She attended NDSU as a pole vaulter for the women’s track and field team, and to start her education in the pre-pharmacy curriculum. She graduated with her PharmD, BS in pharmaceutical sciences, and minors in chemistry and microbiology in the spring of 2019 from the College of Health Professions at NDSU. Some of her pharmacy interests include: pediatrics, specifically NICU, infectious disease, ER, and cardiology. Her hobbies include working out at local fitness studios, spending time with my new puppy, and boating on the Missouri River in the summer.
