All of Us Research Program

All of Us Research Program LogoThe All of Us Research Program is a large research program funded and managed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with the goal of advancing precision medicine. Precision medicine is health care that is based on you as an individual. It takes into account factors like where you live (environment), what you do (lifestyle), and your family health history (genetics).

Become one in a million

Essentia Health is an enrollment partner of the All of Us Research Program. We are seeking volunteers to share health information to help accelerate health research and medical breakthroughs.

Who can participate?

Anyone 18 years or older can participate. You do not have to be a patient of Essentia to enroll. People of every race, ethnicity, sex, gender, and sexual orientation are welcome. You can be healthy, or you can have a long-term health issue. There are no limits to taking part based on your health status.

At this time, people who are in prison, unable to consent on their own, and younger than 18 are unable to enroll.

How to participate

Step 2: Review and Sign the Consent Forms

In your All of Us account, you will be asked to review two consent forms: General Consent and Electronic Health Record (EHR) Consent. The process usually takes 18-30 minutes.

Step 3: Complete Surveys and More

Once you have given your consent, you will be asked to complete online health surveys. You may be invited to complete an in-person visit. There, you’ll be asked to provide blood and urine samples and have your physical measurements taken. Once you have completed these steps, you will receive a $25 gift card.

What is Essentia Health’s role in the All of Us Research Program?

The Essentia Institute of Rural Health (EIRH) is a partner of the All of Us Research Program in the northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota regions. EIRH is a member of the Trans-American Consortium for Health (TACH) – a group of health care providers and fellow partners of the All of Us Research Program that represent a large and diverse patient population covering the greater Midwest, Texas, and parts of Massachusetts.

At Essentia Health, we look to our patients and community members to help with this national effort to help advance the future of medicine. The health data you share will be added to the All of Us Research Program database. Researchers can access this data to conduct studies. These studies can help determine how different factors such as environment, lifestyle, and genes can impact your health, which can lead to new medical treatments unique to each individual.

All of Us is a service mark of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The All of Us platform is for research only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
