TBI Description

Objective

Funded by the Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation, the aim of this project is to describe the epidemiology of TBI treated by the SMMC trauma service using existing data from the trauma registry and EPIC.  This information can be used to help guide priorities for ongoing and future primary prevention efforts. TBI case data will include: age, gender, urban/rural, diagnosis, cause of trauma, injury severity, treatment, mortality, length of stay, and 30-day readmission over the period from January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2014.

Dr. Kristin Colling is the Principal Investigator. Linda Vogel, Melissa Harry, PhD, and Dr. Steven Eyer are Co-Investigators on this study. Colleen Renier is the study biostatistician.
