Central Minnesota Substance Use Prevention, Intervention, and Long-Term Recovery Planning Project

Objective

The purpose of the Central Minnesota Substance Use Prevention, Intervention, and Long-Term Recovery Planning Project is to increase access to evidence-based strategies to reduce substance use disorders (SUD), with a focus on opioid use disorders (OUD), through development of a rural health care network. The multisectoral (vertical) network will create a plan to implement medication assisted treatment ( Essentia Health (EH) St. Joseph’s-Baxter Clinic, EH St. Joseph’s Brainerd Clinic, and other EH primary care clinics in the area, integration of behavioral health in primary care (adding care coordination and behavioral health specialty), specialty consultation, and a community network poised to implement the plan at the conclusion of the year-long planning process.
