Columbia Suicide Screening: Implementation and Outcomes

Objective

This retrospective study of the use of the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) at Essentia Health will evaluate both health facility implementation and patient outcomes. The study will describe the C-SSRS screened patient population at Essentia Health Minnesota facilities, as well as compare suicide-related outcomes for patients at Essentia Health Minnesota facilities during the two years before the universal implementation of the C-SSRS to patients screened after C-SSRS implementation. The study will also assess suicide screener utilization rates by health care providers, and assess health care resource utilization rates by patients, at Essentia Health Minnesota facilities before and after C-SSRS implementation.
