The Cankdeska Cikana Community College Behavioral Health Research Development Project


The purpose of this project is to build infrastructure to conduct behavioral health research at Spirit Lake Nation, to better address behavioral health needs (mental health and substance abuse) identified by the community. The project includes research course development and implementation and the conduct of two research projects: a community college health survey and a community needs assessment. Research team: Essentia Health-Pat Conway, Jennifer Boeckel, Danielle Myers-Wilson. CCCC-Cynthia Lindquist, Stuart Young, Bonita Morin, the Spirit Lake Community Workgroup. Funding through the National Institutes of Health Native American Research Centers in Health (NARCH) program grant to the American Indian Higher Education Consortium.
