Since 2010, Essentia Institute of Rural Health (EIRH) research efforts explore ways to make health care better for patients, bring innovation to medicine, and advance treatments. We encourage and support research geared toward developing new and improved medications, therapies, devices, and delivery methods.
The focus of EIRH research is to improve our patients' health by engaging in studies of rural healthcare delivery, government and industry-based clinical trials, and disease-related issues. Our research focuses primarily on transforming healthcare delivery in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, primary care, geriatrics, and trauma. We are also involved in many clinical trials studies.
EIRH receives research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as other federal, regional, and local agencies, including foundations such as the Essentia Health Foundation.
