The Essentia Health’s Continuing Medical Education Program supports the organization’s mission to make a healthy difference in people’s lives. This goal is accomplished by providing evidence-based learning for physicians and other care team professionals to improve competence, performance, and patient outcomes. Impact is measured by learner intent to change practice and organizational performance and outcome metrics.
Essentia Health is accredited by the Minnesota Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is designed for a physician audience, but all members of the healthcare team are encouraged to participate.
Our goal is to implement and accredit CME activities that address professional gaps to improve physician competence, performance and knowledge. In 2017, the Essentia Health CME department provided 1,664 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 TM credits. An estimated 38,350 participants attended these educational activities: 6,293 physicians and 32,257 non-physician attendees.
