This is a fast-paced Childbirth Education class based on Lamaze Childbirth Education principles and is designed for parents who are unable to attend the weeknight sessions. It is ideal to start taking this class when you are between 28 and 32 weeks pregnant. Registration reserves space for the mother and her partner. This class is designed to help you and your partner prepare for the birth of your baby.
Topics covered include:
- Positioning and relaxation techniques for labor
- Role of a support person during labor
- Discussion of various choices for mother during birth
- Vaginal and Cesarean Birth
- Adjusting to parenthood
- Care of newborn
- How to initiate breastfeeding within one hour of birth (Sacred Hour and Skin-to-Skin)
- The Benefits of Breastfeeding
- The Benefits of Rooming-In
