As research confirms, the benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and babies, more women are choosing to breastfeed. Two of the keys for successful breastfeeding are education and support. To help you get the best start possible, the course will include both an introduction to the basics of breastfeeding and resources for ongoing support. Your partner is encouraged to attend, as well as others who will support you after your baby is born.
Topics include:
- Preparation and suggested supplies
- Care for the mother including nutrition and exercise
- Nursing your baby - How soon? How often? How long?
- Easy ways to avoid common breastfeeding problems
- How partners and others can help
- Returning to work
There is no fee to attend this class!
This class is an Online class and will Not meet in person. Enjoy the class while sitting on your couch. Please have a stuffed animal, doll or pillow available to practice the breastfeeding positions during the class. We encourage your support person to watch the class with you if able.
When registering for the class use a valid email address as this will be how I send you the link to "Join" the class:
1. Use a Web browser or download the free "Teams App" on your smartphone, tablet, etc.
2. Click on the "Join Microsoft Teams Meeting" in the email that will be sent to you a few days prior to start date
3. You will need to have a Microsoft account to join
4. Make sure to sign-in prior to the start date to ensure it works
