Central Hillside Farmers Market coming to an end for the season

COVID-19 vaccine will be offered as part of end-of-the-year celebration

As summer comes to a close, the Central Hillside Farmers Market, sponsored in part by Essentia Health, is also winding down for the season. An end-of-the-year celebration will be held from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14. The market is located at 503 E Third St.

To celebrate the end of the harvest season, there will be a COVID-19 vaccine pop-up, live music and hot food throughout the day. There will also be free bicycles, youth helmets, reusable tote bags and other fun giveaways.

No pre-registration is needed for those who are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. Two nurses will be on hand and ready to administer the free shots.

Due to the ongoing construction near our campus, there are several traffic changes to note.

Marketgoers will be asked to follow current Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 guidelines. Hand-washing stations, masks and gloves will be available on-site.

The market launched in 2018 as a way to provide healthy options along a bus route and within walking distance of many Central Hillside neighbors. It is operated in partnership with Community Action Duluth’s Seeds of Success Program.

The market’s last day for the season is Sept. 28.
