Essentia Health-Sandstone receives donation for emergency medical services

Town & Country Insurance recently donated $10,000 to Essentia Health-Sandstone’s EMS to provide grants to area first responder groups for new automated external defibrillators and other needed gear and equipment. Local first responder organizations can apply for these funds here.

“From my perspective, one of our local goals over the last few years has been to find ways our Essentia Health-Sandstone EMS could provide increased support and training for our area first responder groups,” said Michael Hedrix, administrator at the Sandstone hospital.

“Arranging for various grant funding has been one key initiative for our EMS to assist local first responders,” Hedrix continued. “The Town & Country Insurance agency’s support in this effort is impressive and greatly appreciated. In addition, over the last year our EMS has supplied EMT trainers to conduct refresher courses throughout the region. This has saved area EMTs roughly $40,000 in training costs, as well as allowed them to receive their training locally.”

Town & Country Insurance has offices in Hinckley, Finlayson and Mora.
