Essentia Health welcomes Dr. Christopher Failing

Christopher Failing, pediatric rheumatology

Dr. Christopher Failing, pediatric rheumatologist, has joined the Essentia Health team in Fargo and is now seeing patients age 25 and younger.

“I found pediatric rheumatology to be a perfect fit for me. It’s a very intellectually challenging specialty as rheumatic disorders can involve multiple organ systems and typically require piecing together a patient’s history, physical exam findings and laboratory testing to make a diagnosis,” explains Dr. Failing. “It’s one of the most rewarding pediatric specialties as it affords me an opportunity to form long-term partnerships with my patients and their families and make a difference in their lives.”

Dr. Failing earned his medical degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks, N.D. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he also completed a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology. Dr. Failing is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics.

“Being diagnosed with a rheumatologic disorder can be very overwhelming, but I’ll strive to be with the patient and their family every step of the way to provide the best possible care I can, it is the essence of why I became a physician,” shares Dr. Failing.
