Published on September 10, 2020
The well-being of residents in long-term care and other residential settings is our top priority. Balancing COVID-19 safety and restrictions and our resident’s well-being requires cooperation among our facilities, visitors and the state department of health to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. Visitation has been limited since March 12, 2020. Recently, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has outlined when facilities may increase the amount of visitation and activities in long-term care facilities. Restrictions can be adjusted while maintaining high standards for COVID-19 safety for residents, staff and visitors.
Essentia Health announces a change to the visitor policy at Lincoln Park Senior Apartments, Winchester Senior Apartments and Lincoln Park Assisted Living, effective immediately. Indoor visitation is now allowed during visiting hours, following requirements set by MDH and Center for Disease Control.
Visitors to these buildings need to be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. This screening will be done at the Oak Crossing entrance during visitor hours. Visitors must arrive wearing a facemask and will be provided with eye protection. Visitors will also need to practice hand hygiene, must limit movement within the facility and must socially distance from others while in the facility. Staff will be monitoring visitors and working to correct breaches of the safety or infection control policies.
Because visitation may be restricted at any time and may be different among the various facilities in our community, we encourage visitors to check the current visitation policy for the facility. Visitors may call the visitation line at 218-314-7599.
Please note this change does not apply to Essentia Health Oak Crossing.
We are committed to safeguarding the health and wellness of residents and preventing the spread of illness. We thank you for your cooperation.
