Essentia Health opening Urgent Care in Superior

Soon, Superior and Douglas County residents will have a new option for health care. Essentia Health will open an Urgent Care at its Superior Clinic on Friday, Oct. 2 at noon. The Essentia Health-Superior Clinic Urgent Care will be open to serve patients on a walk-in basis Fridays between 12-7 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Mondays 12-7 p.m. at 3500 Tower Avenue in Superior.

“We are responding to a need for an Urgent Care that we’ve recognized within our community for some time,” says Essentia Health-St. Mary’s-Superior Clinic Administrator Kim Pearson. “Patients have been seeking this level of care for years and we’re pleased to be able to offer them this choice, in addition to E-visits, virtual visits on demand, in-person clinic appointments and the care we provide on an emergency basis in our hospital.”

While St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior Clinic often does offer same day access for appointments, opening the Urgent Care will provide an extra level of convenience to patients who don’t want to schedule an appointment, increasing accessibility and offering the appropriate level of care.

In addition to the convenience of Urgent Care, patients will also benefit from lab and radiology right on site. Essentia’s electronic medical record ensures coordinated care, no matter how patients choose to receive care.

Urgent care is an option for many medical conditions that need to be treated but are not emergencies, such as strep throat, minor injuries or even skin infections. For emergency care, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
