Essentia Health-Oak Crossing again named Best Nursing Home

Essentia Health-Oak Crossing has been named a 2020-21 Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report.

Again this year, Essentia Health-Oak Crossing has been ranked as high performing in both long-term care and short-term rehab metrics. Oak Crossing is one of only 708 nursing homes in the nation that received this highest-level designation for both types of care.

“U.S. News scours the nation seeking the best nursing home facilities and reviews more than 15,000 facilities across the country to determine both short-term rehabilitation rankings as well as long-term care rankings.

“At Oak Crossing, caring for our residents and patients is a calling for our staff. Achieving this designation in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflects the exceptional, person centered care that our team works hard to deliver every day,” says Christy Brinkman, Essentia Health-Oak Crossing administrator. “We are humbled to be recognized for this achievement, year after year.”

On any given morning this year, U.S. News estimates over 1.3 million individuals, including 1 in 10 individuals age 85 and above, will wake up in a nursing home. The U.S. News ratings offer individuals and families a starting point in their search for a nursing home.

Ratings are based on U.S. News’s assessment of quality measures focusing on staffing, outcomes, resident complaints and processes of care. All data used for the ratings came from publicly available sources published by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
