Flu shots also offered — no appointment necessary
Looking to sharpen your trick-or-treating skills ahead of Halloween?
The Essentia Wellness Center in Hermantown (4289 Ugstad Road) invites you to the Halloween Healthtacular from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Festivities include trick-or-treat stations, face painting, a bounce house, photo booth and arts and crafts.
And right in the middle of all the fun will be a costume parade at 3 p.m.
The 72,000-square-foot Wellness Center opened on Oct. 15. Among its key attractions are:
“We feel like this is an excellent opportunity to show off our beautiful new space to the community, which has been so supportive of this endeavor,” said Sara Cole, President and CEO of the Duluth Area Family YMCA. “Families are welcome to come and spend their afternoon with us and see what the Essentia Wellness Center is all about, and we’ll do our best to make sure kids of all ages have a blast getting ready for Halloween.”
Throughout the afternoon, Essentia will offer flu shots. No appointment is necessary. Flu vaccinations are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance.
A $26 million project, the Essentia Wellness Center is a collaborative partnership between Essentia Health, the Duluth Area Family YMCA, the City of Hermantown and Hermantown Community Schools. Additional support from the State of Minnesota, St. Louis County, the Hermantown Chamber of Commerce and several neighboring communities helped make this project a reality.
