Essentia Health welcomes Dr. Denton Stam

Dr. Marc Denton Stam, a cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined the Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Heart and Vascular Center in Duluth, Minnesota.

“Essentia Health has an amazing cooperative approach with other physicians,” says Dr. Stam. “The staff in the Heart and Vascular Center are extremely well trained and I’m excited to be part of such a fine institution.”

Dr. Stam earned a medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He completed a residency in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and a residency in thoracic surgery at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Stam is certified by both the American Board of Surgery in surgery, and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in cardiothoracic vascular surgery.

“I believe in making my patients completely comfortable and knowledgeable about their surgery. Helping my patients obtain a better quality of life fulfills my greatest dreams,” explains Dr. Stam.
