Essentia Health to host vaping panel

The public is invited to a vaping panel Friday afternoon at the DECC’s Harbor Side Ballroom.

The panel, from 3:15-4 p.m., will conclude Essentia Health’s conference titled “Caring for the littlest patients: What’s new in pediatric medicine.” The daylong event is geared toward primary care and pediatric physicians, advanced practitioners and health care team members.

However, “Vaping: The epidemic gripping today’s teens in addiction” is open to anyone with an interest in the topic. Featured speakers include Jill Doberstein, tobacco treatment program supervisor at Essentia; Dr. Timothy Zager, pediatrics physician at Essentia; Dr. Sarah Manney, pediatrics physician at Essentia; and Danette Seboe, principal at Duluth East High School.

The objective of the panel is to assess the scope of youth tobacco use while formulating a plan to discuss the effects of vaping with youngsters and their parents.

Members of the media are invited to attend.
