Essentia Health Hosts Lunch-N-Learn Event

Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Foundation is hosting a lunch-n-learn event on Wednesday, May 15 from 12 to 1 p.m. This event will be held at the Essentia Health EMS building in the North and South conference rooms located at 225 Park Street, Detroit Lakes.

The topic is Plant-Based Nutrition presented by Bonnie Juma, wellness educator. One of the main reasons to follow a plant-based diet is for the health benefits. Remember the phrase, you are what you eat. While we are certainly more than the food we eat, scientific evidence is demonstrating more and more that what we eat affects us. Choosing which foods we put on our plates – and which ones we avoid – gives us an unprecedented power to live longer, healthier lives. Bonnie will share the benefits of eating a plant-based diet as well what this looks like and how you can make it a part of your lifestyle.

This event is open to the public and admission is $5 per person.
