Essentia Health hosts annual tree walk for hospice

Essentia Health-Fosston is hosting the 18th annual Tree Walk for Hospice on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Magelssen Elementary School located at 701 1st Street East in Fosston.

Join in the holiday spirit while supporting the hospice program to bring end-of-life care to those who need it. The tree walk will feature a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Fosston Lengby Lions, hot cider and goodies served by hospice staff, silent auction, a visit from Santa at noon, games for the kids and a celebration of life ceremony.

The tree walk will feature a winter wonderland of decorated trees and wreaths that will be sold by silent auction. Walk through, browse and find the perfect tree or wreath to take home.

“We are humbled and thankful each year by the amazing community support. Funds raised at this event are used to purchase items to enhance the care we provide to our hospice patients and their families,” explains Kristi Mienert, hospice manager. “Our goal is for patients to be as comfortable as possible while doing things important to them,” Mienert says.

You can get involved by sponsoring a tree to be auctioned, donating to the silent auction, or purchasing an ornament for the Celebration of Life Tree in honor or memory of someone. To help, please call 218-435-7670.
