Essentia Health Cancer Center has received a donation of $22,788 to benefit local patients dealing with cancer. This donation is the proceeds of BRAS ON BIG 98.7 with BIG 98.7, Corwin Automotive Group and D-S Beverages during the month of October. The month-long fundraiser serves to raise awareness for breast cancer as well as generate money for things like gas cards, hotel vouchers, and wigs for cancer patients.
Throughout the month, community members were invited to drop off bras at any Corwin location. For each bra collected, Corwin Automotive Group donated $5 for each bra (up to 2,000 bras). In addition, D-S Beverages donated 25¢ for each pint and $1 for each case of Michelob Ultra sold in October from participating community businesses.
A check presentation to the Essentia Health Fargo Foundation and Essentia Health Cancer Center this morning featured all the bras collected from the community. It was an impressive sight. Bras were then delivered to the YWCA.
All the money raised during this promotion will be used to support local patients with items such as gas cards, lodging vouchers, grocery store gift cards and assistance with wig costs.
