The Miller-Dwan Auxiliary, St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary are offering scholarships to deserving students studying health care.
The Miller-Dwan Auxiliary is awarding scholarships of $2,000 to graduating high school seniors from Denfeld, East and Harbor City High Schools, Hermantown High School and Proctor High School and current college students pursuing health care careers.
St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior Auxiliary is awarding scholarships of $500 to $1000 to students who are entering their second year or higher of college or a technical program in a health-related field and are Douglas County residents.
Scholarships are also available to health care students at specific Duluth colleges through the St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary.
Basic criteria for selection for all scholarships are academic excellence, high character and demonstrated leadership. Applicants are also reviewed with an emphasis on past and current volunteer activities. Consideration is also given to demonstrated financial need, academic record and commitment to caring for the sick and injured.
All applications are due March 1.
