Class is Monday, Dec. 2, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center

What if a sudden illness or injury leaves you unable to speak for yourself? Who would speak for you? What would you want them to know about your values and wishes?

A free advance care planning class hosted by Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 2, will highlight the steps necessary to ensure you’re prepared for this kind of scenario. In addition to fostering thought-provoking discussion, the class will help you learn the vocabulary, reflect on your values, explore goals for treatment and work toward completing a health care directive.

The class runs from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the front auditorium at Essentia Health, 407 East Third Street. For more information, contact Wanda Paulsen at (218) 786-1310.
