Thursday, July 26 and August 2 from 4:30 to 7 pm, the Essentia Health Pediatrics and Family Medicine Teams are offering a Sports Physical for student athletes in grades 7th-12 th at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Baxter Clinic.
The Sport Physical exam will consist of complete well-child exam, including hearing and vision, medical history review, immunization review, allergies, physical and skeletal evaluation by board certified Pediatric and Family Medicine providers. An annual well-child exam is typically 100% covered by insurance.
Having a healthy body is a part of enjoying and excelling in sports. In addition Essentia Health specialists will be on hand to provide additional education. Essentia Health Athletic Trainers Aaron Nelson and Megan Hanson, will answer questions and provide information on injury prevention. Registered Dietitian Jennifer Stange will also share information on fat and sugar content as well as examples of healthy snacks and eating, because the fuel you put in your body impacts your performance on the field or court.
Call 218.828.7100 to schedule an appointment for students in grades 7th-12th, typically ages 12-18 years old, who are playing fall sports. Athletes must attend the visit with their parent or guardian. The Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Baxter Clinic is located at 13060 Isle Drive, Baxter.
