Child and adolescent psychologist Anna Ryan has joined the Behavioral Health Department at the Essentia Health-Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center in Duluth, Minnesota.
“I have always liked working with children, and I saw that there was a great need for services for children with developmental disabilities,” explains Ryan. “I feel that early intervention is crucial for helping children and their families see greater success in the long run, but many families lack the access to appropriate services. I wanted to help fill some of those gaps.”
Ryan earned a PhD in School Psychology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Kreiger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
“I am very passionate about what I do, and I also love to do hands-on training and coaching with any family and community members that are willing,” says Ryan. “I feel that the more people who are able to help and support children in their therapy, the better.”
To schedule an appointment with Ryan, talk with your child’s provider about a referral. To see her full profile, visit EssentiaHealth.org and click on “Find a Doctor or Provider.”
