Licensed Psychologist Kirsten Williams has joined the Behavioral Health Department at the Essentia Health-South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota.
“I’ve heard many good things from people about their positive experiences at Essentia Health,” says Williams. “There’s something about the culture here that really seems to make patients feel that they are cared for and respected, and I’m so happy to be joining this team.”
Williams earned a doctorate degree in psychology counseling from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and completed a residency in psychology at Child and Family Therapy Associates in Fargo, North Dakota.
As part of the Behavioral Health team, Williams will care for children, adolescents and young adults. “I was drawn to this patient population because I love watching them grow socially and emotionally,” she explains. “I love their senses of humor, and we tend to take to each other really easily. Kids and teens can tell when they're with a person who is safe and who respects and enjoys them, and when that happens, they're much more willing to do the work to change – as we all are.”
