Essentia Health invites you to “Passport to Adventure,” a community celebration of healthy, active kids and families. It’s from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Sports Center, 120 S. 30th Ave. West in Duluth. The complimentary event is open to everyone.
“Our mission is to make a healthy difference in the lives of the people we serve,” says Tonya Loken, Essentia’s Community Relations program manager. “Families will be able to connect with community organizations that offer resources to help them stay active and healthy.”
Events include a bike rodeo and bike helmet giveaway (while supplies last), a soccer clinic, games, activities and open ice skating. A healthy dinner will be provided, along with a chance to meet community youth organizations. Representatives from Essentia’s recruitment team will be on hand to answer questions about working at Essentia and will offer potential applicants the chance to apply for positions at the event.
“We hope ‘Passport to Adventure’ gets families excited about having a healthy summer. That’s particularly important when school is out and many kids could spend their free time on screen time,” Loken explains. “Essentia and the other community organizations involved in this event are committed to supporting healthy activities for families.”
