Essentia Health-Fosston Receives National Quality Award

Essentia Health-Fosston is proud to be recognized by The Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence in Quality and Patient Perspective, reflecting top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the nation.  This award was announced on National Rural Health Day, November 15, 2018.

“We are honored to receive the performance leadership awards for Quality and Patient Perspective. Obviously, this recognized high performance is made possible through the combined efforts of our very capable medical providers and support staff here in Fosston,” says Essentia Health-Fosston Administrator Kevin Gish. “And, we are proud of this performance and not just by way of receiving annual awards but rather by day to day service to this community and area as we continually strive to make a healthy difference in people’s lives.”

The Performance Leadership Awards are determined each year using the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Performance is assessed across more than 50 individual indicators and eight pillars of performance to determine the top performers. The Performance Leadership Awards recognize Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective.

“National Rural Health Day provides the ideal opportunity to spotlight the power of rural and recognize those facilities excelling in Quality, Patient Satisfaction and Outcomes,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
