The Miller Dwan Auxiliary and the Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior Auxiliary are offering scholarships to deserving students.
The Miller Dwan Auxiliary will award students scholarships of $2,000 to graduates of Denfeld, East and Harbor City High Schools, Hermantown High School, and Proctor High School pursuing a healthcare career. Awards are given based on academic excellence, high character, and demonstrated leadership.
Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior Auxiliary is awarding scholarships of $500 to $1000 for students entering their second year of higher of college or technical program in a health-related field and are a resident of Douglas County. All scholarships are geared for students pursuing careers in healthcare.
Scholarships are also available to health care students at specific colleges through the St. Mary’s Medical Center Duluth Auxiliary.
Basic criteria for selection for all scholarships are academic excellence, high character, and demonstrated leadership. Applicants are also reviewed with an emphasis on past and current volunteer activities. Consideration is also given to demonstrated financial need, academic record and commitment to caring for the sick and injured.
