Christmas comes early for patients at Essentia Health-Fargo

Santa and Mrs. Claus decided to leave the North Pole a little early to visit some hospital patients at Essentia Health-Fargo.

St. Nick delivered gifts to newborns in the birthing center and NICU, and later visited patients in surgery recovery, cardiac care and many other hospital departments.

While conventionally Santa's elves make the gifts, this year the elves had some help from the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton school choir and Essentia Health.

"Watching the faces of our patients light up when Santa walks in the room is absolutely heart-warming," says Kerri Anderson, Essentia's volunteer coordinator. "From old to young, every person Santa walked by wanted a picture or hug from Jolly Old St. Nick."

Extra gifts will be shared with pediatrics and ED patients.
