Skywalk connecting city parking ramp, Duluth Clinic First Street Building to close temporarily
As construction progresses on Essentia Health’s Vision Northland project in downtown Duluth, an important change is coming for patients and visitors accessing our campus via the City of Duluth parking ramp located on First Street between Third and Fourth Avenues East.
The skywalk linking the Duluth Clinic First Street Building to the city parking ramp will be closed starting Wednesday, July 6. During the closure, patients, visitors and pedestrians will use a covered, protected and handicap-accessible pathway to travel safely between our medical campus and the parking ramp.
The temporary closure is necessary as construction crews complete work on the skywalk. This work is expected to be done by late fall, at which time the skywalk will permanently reopen.
Signage is posted along the new pathway and within the parking ramp to alert patients, visitors and staff of the change.
Essentia Health apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. We ask our patients and visitors to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes when accessing our campus from the city parking ramp.
