Essentia Health-Fosston welcomes new administrator
Essentia Health is proud to announce Callen Weispfennig as the new administrator for the Fosston hospital and clinic.
"Having grown up in rural Minnesota, I'm incredibly excited to be moving back to a rural community like Fosston,” said Weispfennig. “Rural health administration has been a goal of mine for many years and I’m proud to be joining an organization like Essentia because its mission of making a healthy difference in people’s lives aligns with my own.”
Weispfennig brings more than 15 years of health care leadership experience to Essentia Health. He comes to Essentia from St. Cloud Hospital, where he served as director of the heart and vascular center. Prior to that, he worked as director of operations, ambulatory specialties and director of adult and pediatric urology and neurosciences for CentraCare Health.
Weispfennig holds an MBA from Augsburg University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army Reserves.
Weispfennig’s first day in his new role will be April 25. He will be moving to Fosston with his wife and two young children.
Essentia Health-Fosston is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a clinic attached.
