All of Us Research Program coming to two new Essentia Health locations
Staff from the All of Us Research Program will travel to the Essentia Health-Jamestown Clinic and Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes Clinic this summer to meet with participants. The goal of this nation-wide program is to build a diverse community of at least a million participants to contribute data to health research. Participants may also learn more about their health.
The All of Us Research Program partnered with Essentia Health in 2018, and since then more than 2,400 participants from the communities we serve have signed up.
Research staff plan to travel to these locations once per month throughout the summer and fall based on demand. The first date for Detroit Lakes was June 24 and the first date for Jamestown is July 28.
Anyone over the age of 18 with a U.S. address and capacity to consent for themselves is eligible to join the research program. Interested individuals do not need to be Essentia Health patients to join.
In addition to the two new locations, enrollment visits are also available in Duluth, Ely, Virginia and Brainerd in Minnesota; Superior and Ashland in Wisconsin; and Fargo.
This program prioritizes inclusion of communities that were previously underrepresented in health research, including racial and ethnic minorities, sexual and gender minorities, rural residents, those 65 and up and others.
Right now, more than 1,800 research projects are in the works utilizing data collected from the program. Anyone can browse the projects in progress here: Research Projects Directory.
