Community Engagement: August 2021

Essentia Health Supports Hygiene Program

Essentia Health recently donated $3,231 to First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead in a partnership to provide access to hygiene items for homeless community members. This grant aims to impact nearly 500 individuals. Access to hygiene items improves overall well-being and confidence while finding employment and stable housing.

Essentia colleagues Chuck Ulrich, Chandra Eaton, and Karen Pifher present the donation to Pastor Robert and parishioners who lead the program.

"Baby's First Books" Program

Thanks to grant funding from Essentia Health and the Rotary Club of Duluth, the Every Child Ready Duluth library initiative recently launched "Baby's First Books." The initiative hopes to bridge the gap in school readiness in Duluth by engaging under-resourced parents of newborns and supporting early learning. With this grant, "Baby's First Books" aims to support nearly 150 families with early learning information and resources through a partnership with St. Louis County Public Health home visiting nurses. tote with cute cards
