Dr. Darryl Beehler
has joined the Urgent Care Department at the Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes Clinic. Dr. Beehler will also care for patients in the Emergency Department at Essentia Health St. Mary’s.
“This opportunity combines what I like best about being a physician,” he says. “I enjoy the fast pace and unpredictability of the emergency room, as well as the continuity of care that will come with working in Urgent Care. By spanning these different settings and caring for the same community of patients, I think it will help to bridge the gap that can occur between a hospital and clinical practice.”
Dr. Beehler earned a medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. He completed an internship at Carson City Hospital in Carson City, Mich. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine in Family Medicine.
Dr. Beehler has 40 years of experience caring for patients in both primary care and emergency medicine. “I enjoy teaching, and I hope that I’m able to pass on some of what I’ve learned in my many years of practice to my new colleagues,” he says.
