Send an e-mail to your doctor. See your lab results in just a few hours. Request an appointment online.
Essentia Health’s MyHealth offers you a way to do all three – and much more – through a confidential and secure online gateway that’s available 24/7. It’s a free service for patients.
While MyHealth is not for urgent medical issues, it is an efficient and convenient way for patients and physicians to manage routine health care. Your information is drawn directly from your electronic medical record and it’s password-protected, which means only you can access it.
“Our patients have requested electronic access to their health information for years, so we’re pleased to be the first health system in our service area to offer them this enhancement,” says Kevin Pitzer, Chief Administrative Officer for Essentia Health's West Region. MyHealth is a major benefit of the new electronic medical records in Essentia Health clinics and hospitals, he explains.

“MyHealth provides a secure portal or messaging system that will enhance patient communication,” says Dr. Joel Haugen, a Family Medicine physician at Essentia Health-West Acres Clinic. “It’s easier for patients to connect with their provider and to receive test results.”
MyHealth allows you and your healthcare team to communicate via secure e-mail when you don’t need an office visit or a phone call. It’s more efficient than calling the doctor’s office, leaving a message and then waiting for a return call.
“MyHealth helps me and my staff be more timely in our communication with patients,” says Dr. Haugen, adding it also helps patients become partners in their care.
MyHealth allows you to:
• Review your diagnoses, current medications and test results.
• Keep track of your weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and other health trends.
• Request or cancel an appointment.
• Access your immunization records.
• Access medical records of your children.
